Morocco, Politics, 5/16/1998
In press statements the spokesman of the Moroccan government, Khaled Eliwa, confirmed today that the government postponed the presentation of the new budget project (98-99), to the parliament, due to financial and legal problems.
Eliwa cited amendments that were added to the law regulating the financial aspects, as the budget was being finalized.
The Moroccan government held its first meeting under the leadership of Abdul Rahman El-Youssefi on last Wednesday to examine laws governing finance, insurance and estates. They also discussed amendments that will be ratified by the government in setting up the budget and the way to allocate spending.
