A meeting for facilitating trade in the Gulf
Gulf, Economics, 5/14/1998
The general trusteeship of the Gulf Cooperation Council is holding a joint meeting with the union of trade chambers in the G.C.C. countries in Doha today in the presence of G.C.C. secretary-general Jamil al-Hujeilan and his assistant for economic affairs Abdullah al-Khalify to discuss coordination and the Gulf private sector's coming role.
The meeting will address the role of the G.C.C.'s industrial and trade chambers in leading private sector work, besides directing its steps according to the effect of international and regional economic events.
The Qatari trade and industrial chamber presented a note for the cooperation chamber's union on facilitating the transfer and outflow of goods and the trade exchange between the council's countries.
The note said some Gulf countries have abided by neither the recommendations of the economic and financial cooperation committee nor the resolutions of the Arab interior ministers, which lead to limiting the Qatari products exported to the council's countries.
