Four Jordanian prisoners back home
Jordan-Kuwait, Judicial, 5/14/1998
Four Jordanian prisoners arrived yesterday in Amman after they spent eight years in Kuwaiti custody for supporting Iraq's six-month invasion of Kuwait in 1990 which was followed by the Gulf War in 1991.
Iraqi armed forces invaded Kuwait in August 1990 and were forced to leave the Gulf state in February 1991.
Six other Jordanian detainees returned home earlier this month after the Emir of Kuwait issued his amnesty regarding their cases.
There are still six more Jordanians being held in Kuwaiti jails on the same basis. They are expected home next Monday.
