Sudan urges Arab states to send humanitarian aid

Sudan officially asked Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid to ask the Arab states to offer humanitarian aid and contribute alongside the donor countries to the aid program for the starving people in south Sudan.
Sudan's permanent representative at the AL, Ahmad Abdul Halim said in a statement following a meeting with the Abdul Meguid that the latter stressed the need of a united Arab stand in support of Sudan in the efforts to counter the starvation in South Sudan and to provide urgent Arab aids for Sudan. For his part, Abdul Meguid stressed the AL care to maintain Sudan's unity and territorial integrity.
