U.A.E. agrees to buy fighter jets from U.S.

As expected, the U.A.E. yesterday agreed to buy 80 F-16 fighter planes from the U.S. at a cost of nearly $8 billion. Crown Prince Sheikh Kalifa bin Zayed of Abu Dhabi and U.S. Vice-President Al Gore announced the agreement for the planes which will be produced by Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems.
