O.I.C. supports Lebanon

The Organization of the Islamic Conference has voiced support for the Lebanese government in its position of rejecting the Israeli proposal concerning U.N. resolution 425, noting that the Israeli conditions on withdrawing from south Lebanon void the said resolution.
A statement issued by O.I.C. secretary-general Ezzeddine al-Iraqi in Jeddah on Tuesday said the Israeli proposal constitutes a dangerous precedent, making U.N. Security Council resolutions easy for any member state to amend. The O.I.C. statement called on U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan to work for the implementation of U.N. resolution 425 to ensure the credibility of international legitimacy.
