Qatari prince to discuss Iraq's desire for dialog on Washington visit

Qatari sources told ArabicNews.com today that the Qatari crown prince, Sheikh Jasem Bin Hamad al-Thani, will pay his first official visit to the U.S. soon.

The sources said that communications are taking place between the two countries concerning the arrangements for the visit and said that Sheikh Jasem will meet with high-ranking officials in Washington, where talks will focus on methods of enhancing relations between the two countries, the situation in the Middle East and the peace process.

The sources also added that Sheikh Jasem will try to reconcile between the Iraqi and the U.S. points of view and inform the U.S. officials of Iraq's desire to open an effective discussion with the U.S. administration.

The sources also added that the Qatari successor will focus on Israeli violations in south Lebanon.
