Positive developments in Sudanese - Ugandan relations
Sudan-Uganda, Politics, 5/12/1998

A source close to Dr. Riyal Mashar, the Sudanese president's assistant and the chairman of the coordination council of the southern Sudanese states said on Monday that, "The relations between Khartoum and Kampala will witness positive developments in the coming period."

He added that a high-level governmental delegation will visit the Ugandan capital during the coming days to push forward relations between the two countries and that visit will be followed by mutual ones among high-ranking officials in Sudan and Uganda.

This comes at a time when the international rescue organizations have intensified the processes of food stuff distribution to inhabitants who suffer famine in southern Sudan, after the Sudanese authorities allowed airplanes carrying aid to reach these areas.
