Moroccan privatization program takes in $2 billion

So far the Moroccan privatization program has taken in more than $2 billion, including the profits from selling the state's shares in 52 of 114 companies that are taking part in the privatization program.
The value of companies sold to the private sector was nearly $1.4 billion.
The investments in the privatization program were distributed among the foreign investors who received 45% and Moroccan investors who received 55%.
Alfred Solni, an expert in the Moroccan privatization ministry said that about 4,500 investors bought shares in the companies that were privatized between 1993 and 1997.
