Fatah denies connection with Amman explosions
Jordan, Local, 5/11/1998
Fatah's official representative in Amman, Ibrahim Ajwah, denied that his organization is connected with a series of explosions that recently took place in Amman. The Jordanian daily al-Hadath quoted Ajwah as saying in a statement that "14 members of Fatah are still detained under charges of having weapons for illegal groups."
On Sunday, the Jordanian daily al-Hadath said the Jordanian security in northern Jordan's Irbed province has in recent days confiscated a container of sophisticated weapons.
The paper quoted a Jordanian security source as saying that the container included bombs, Kalashinkov machine-guns and pistols, adding that investigations are still underway in this case.
