Crisis between Egypt and Sudan may not be at an end
Egypt-Sudan, Politics, 5/8/1998
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry received a note from the Egyptian People's Assembly to inquire about the procedures taken by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry to respond to the Sudanese government's policies and hesitation to give back Egyptian properties Sudan confiscated.
A member of the assembling left - party in Egypt, El-Badry Farghali presented on urgent demand to the Egyptian parliament concerning this matter, and it was presented to the Foreign Ministry requesting information concerning the policies and steps intended as follow-up steps in the coming period.
This demand is considered the first popular reaction toward the failing attempts to normalize relations between the two countries after the Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it accused the Sudanese government of hesitating and delaying giving back the Egyptian properties and retreating from its promise concerning cooperation in combating terrorism.
Farghali also said Khartoum does not want to cooperate in delivering the wanted terrorists to the Egyptian Ministry of Interior.
