Military cooperation between Syria and Sudan

Syrian Deputy Commander in Chief, Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Mustafa Tlass and his Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Suleiman Hassan on Tuesday signed an accord on military cooperation between Sudan and Syria in conclusion of the talks a Sudanese military delegation held in Damascus.

The accord, establishing military cooperation between the two countries' armed forces, was finalized at a meeting attended by Syrian deputy chiefs of staff Lt. Gen. Ali Aslan and Hassan Turkmani at the headquarters of the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

The Sudanese minister, visiting Syria since last Tuesday, held a series of meetings with his Syrian counterpart, the last of which was at Tlass' office in Damascus on Monday in the presence of the Syrian army chief of staff Lt. Gen. Hikmat al-Shehabi.
