Germany, France to convene summit on Middle East peace process

Spokeswoman for the French Presidential Palace said German and French concern over the stalemate in the Middle East peace process will top the international issues to be discussed during the 71st French - German summit due to be held today in the French city Avignon.
The spokeswoman Palace Catherine added that the summit, to be attended by French President Jacques Chirac, Premier Lionel Jospin and Germany Chancellor Helmut Kohl as well as a number of ministers in Germany will also address European and international issues as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.
