Jordan will receive more than $140 million in aid
Jordan-USA, Economics, 5/6/1998
The USAID Program in Amman in Jordan announced that Jordan will receive over $140 million in assistance for the fiscal year 1998.
The announcement was made by USAID administrator Bryan Eastwood at a lecture in Amman. The USAID administrator stated that the aid program in Jordan focuses on the water sector, population growth and job creating investment.
"Jordan was put in the top five to receive the U.S. aid," the USAID administrator said." This year's program will be even larger than $140 million," adding that a successful aid program of course depends far more on its funding level. "It depends on strong partnerships, appropriate strategy and an effective implementation," Eastwood said. "They depend on results," he reaffirmed.
