Moussa has received an important communique from his Sudanese counterpart
Egypt-Sudan, Politics, 5/5/1998
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa has received an important communique from his Sudanese counterpart Mustafa Othman Ismael. Moussa said this message tackles supporting relations between Egypt and Sudan in addition to methods of moving bilateral ties forward, not backward.
Concerning the Sudanese reply to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's statement which criticized Sudan for delays in returning Egyptian properties that were confiscated in Sudan in 1994, Moussa said that the issue of encouraging relations between the two countries relates to Sudan with consideration to all its political factions.
Sudanese official sources told AtabicNews.com that the implication of the message was an attempt at reconciliation and appreciation for the Egyptian position in showing patience towards Sudan, despite the recent setback on a finding a time schedule for returning the confiscated Egyptian property.
Egypt's Foreign Ministry last week criticized Sudan for not returning the property immediately, after a ranking Egyptian team spent ten days in Sudan negotiating the properties' return.
