Palestinians, Israelis discuss business before London meetings
Palestine-Israel, Business, 5/2/1998

Palestinian economic sources said that Israeli and Palestinian businessmen held meetings on cooperation in Tel Aviv last week, even as political officials prepare for peace talks in London with the US secretary of state. "The discussions between the two sides focused on joint ventures and industrial parks," the Palestinian source added.

"The Israeli side included former Prime Minster Shimon Peres, Manufactures Association President Dan Propper, and the government's coordinator for activities in the territories Ya'accov Or, informed Israeli sources disclosed.

The Palestinian representatives included the Palestinian government's economic minister and Amin Haddad, manager of PADICO, the company operating the Korian park, the Israeli sources added.

Egyptian economic analysts described this meeting as a good step between the two sides, particularly because they discussed the measures for a joint industrial park.
