Iraq attacks Washington and the Security Council
Iraq-USA, Politics, 5/2/1998

Washington was attacked by the Iraqi Cabinet, describing US policies as "tyrannical", adding said the U.N. Security Council is a toy Washington can play with and manipulate however it pleases.

In a statement, Iraq said it has carried out its commitments and obligations embodied in the Security Council resolutions, and said that the international inspection committee has failed after 7,000 visits by 140 inspectors to find out if Iraq is keeping any weapons of mass destruction.

It also said that Iraq is waiting for U.N. Security Council resolutions in the coming weeks, pointing out that the Iraqi situation cannot bear what is happening and what is threatening Iraq's government and people.

Blame was laid at the US and Britain for having hampered the oil-for-food program, where the target of the two countries "is to kill Iraqi children."
