Anani meets with Arafat on peace talks

Jordanian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Jawad Anani held talks yesterday in Ramallah with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. They discussed the peace process in the Middle East.
"I carried a message from the King to Arafat., Anani told reporters.
Following their meeting, Arafat and Anana spoke to the press. They expressed hope for successful meeting in London.
US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will meet separately with the Palestinian president and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in London on Monday in the latest effort to revive Israeli - Palestinian negotiations.
"I briefed Arafat on results of King Hussein's latest visit to Germany, Denmark and Tunisia," Anani said. "There was broad support for the Palestinians and their approach to peacemaking," he added.
Arafat announced his backing of the latest US peace initiative which calls for a 13% Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian territories.
"What I have declared is clear and obvious," Arafat said. "I accepted the American initiative in all its aspects." he told the reporters.
