Acts of violence continue in Algeria

Algerian dailies on Wednesday reported that the number of victims of the massacre committed Tuesday in al-Medea province by armed groups reached 43, while seven girls are reported to have been wounded by the armed groups and all foodstuffs stored in the victims' houses were stolen.

The Algerian daily al-Khabar said the armed groups slaughtered three persons on national road no. 1 in Blida province, kidnapped a fourth person and burnt a lorry. Meanwhile, Liberte daily said that six Algerian citizens were wounded following a land mine explosion when a passenger coach was transporting them between Medea and Harbil.

During a mopping-up operation, the Algerian security forces killed one member of the armed groups and wounded two in Teizi Ozo province. Another three armed group members were killed by the Algerian security forces on Tuesday in Bejaya province.

Meanwhile, al-Ahrar daily said the armed groups on Tuesday kidnapped a young man in Saeeda province and stole 140 sheep.
