Iranian Shoura council chairman concludes visit to Kuwait
Kuwait-Iran, Education, 4/30/1998

Chairman of the Iranian Shoura council Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri proposed during his Wednesday visit to Kuwait University to establish a regional studies center between Iran and Kuwait as a step toward strengthening scientific relations between the two countries.

"This measure has to be preceded by exchanging teaching staff, organizing scientific symposiums and consolidating ties between scientific institutions," Nouri said.

Meeting with rector of Kuwait University, Dr. Fayza al-Khurafi, Nouri cited deeply-rooted Iranian - Kuwaiti cultural relations.

Earlier Nouri met with the Chairman of the Kuwaiti Ummah council, and later in the day he concluded a three-day visit to Kuwait during which he met with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, MENA reported.
