Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed new patron of the Middle East International Boat
Show
United Arab Emirates-Regional, Exhibition, 4/29/1998

The Middle East International Boat Show, which will run from 5th to the 8th of May 1998 at Halls 3 & 4 of the Dubai World Trade Centre, will be held under the patronage of H. H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Said Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai and Chairman of Emirates.

Acknowledging the continued development and success of the Show, H. H. sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum highlighted the opportunity that it offers the exhibitors and boat enthusiasts to come together. The Show is the best way for companies around the region to meet their customers and to increase their market presence.

H. H. Sheikh Ahmed continued, It is important that this region has its own International Marine Show and we are pleased to have the pleasure of hosting the event in Dubai. I am sure that visitors and exhibitors will enjoy what the show and Dubai has to offer. Sheikh Ahmed will officially open the Middle East International Boat Show on the 5th May 1998.

The organizers are encouraged by the continued development of the show. I am pleased to see so many exhibitors participating from neighbouring GCC States this year, which indicates both the success of last year's show and increasing acknowledgment that the show is the best marketing opportunity for the marine industry in the region. There will be more boats on display in the halls and on the water than has been seen since 1994 when the show and the regional industry hit its last peak, said Robert Taylor, Show Manger.

Top class exhibitors at this years show include Sunseeker, CABO, Viking, Fountain Powerboats, Azimut and PR Marine from overseas and Al Boom Marine, Al Shaali, Gulf Craft, AL Dhaen Craft, Voyager Marine, Al Yousuf Yamaha & Dubai Marine from the GCC region.

There will also be an exclusive new area in the show this year called Marinex, set aside strictly for the commercial sector of the Marine Industry. Exhibitors in Marinex will be targeting equipment suppliers, engine dealers, ship repair companies, ship management, Commercial Diving operations and other trade interests, continued Taylor. Marinex has been received with great enthusiasm and we believe it will cater to an important and larger sector of the Marine Market in the Middle East he added.

This will be the 7th consecutive major international marine industry exhibition to take place in Dubai, underlining it's strategic importance as the marine industry show in the region. The Middle East International Boat Show will be co-organised by Dubai Rai and the Dubai World Trade Centre. The show is officially supported by international government backed marine associations from countries including the United States, Germany, Holland, Italy, the United Kingdom and Australia.
