Head of Iranian consultation council concludes tour to Kuwait
Kuwait-Iran, Politics, 4/29/1998

The head of Iranian consultation council, Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri, concluded his visit to Kuwait.

In a press conference held at the conclusion of his discussions, Nateq Nouri stated that the target of his tour was to reassure the Gulf states and to reiterate Iran's desire to establish good relations.

Nateq Nouri said Iranian President Mohammed Said Khatami will pay a visit to the Gulf states in the coming year.

He also renewed his country's commitment to a 1971 agreement concerning a dispute with the United Arab Emirates over three Gulf islands, Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Mousa.

Nateq Nouri was accompanied by a delegation composed of 80 persons, including the minister of industry, Ishak Gehankiri.

At the end of his statements, Nateq Nouri stated that US - Iranian relations have not changed and said there is no initiative underway toward the US.
