Arab national conference calls for lifting sanctions on Arab states

The eighth Arab national conference continued to discuss the reports of the conference's general trusteeship, where it reviewed the situations in Arab states, Arab national security, foreign presence in some Arab states -- especially the Gulf states -- and attempts to undermine Arab unity.
The conference is also addressing the issues of democracy, human rights in the Arab states, and development issues.
The conference called for sanctions against Libya, Iraq and Sudan to be lifted.
The conference which started on Monday in Cairo, with about 165 intellectuals from Arab states, including former heads of governments will end on Thursday.
