Lebanon lodge a complaint against Israeli shelling of civilians

Lebanon on Tuesday lodged five complaints to the monitoring committee of implementing the "April Understanding" agreement, protesting against Israeli attacks against Lebanese civilians and their properties in south Lebanon.
The "April Understanding" committee was established to resolve complaints by either side, Lebanon or Israel, regarding civilian shelling, and this committee was established after the Israeli massacre of Lebanese civilians in the town of Qana.
Five civilians were wounded in Zibqin, Maidoun and Kafra towns, and a number of houses in Yater town were damaged as a result of the Israeli attacks. The committee is due to meet next week to discuss the Lebanese complaints.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces bombarded areas in the northern part of occupied south Lebanon, particularly al-Tuffah district hills and the western sector. Security sources said that in the afternoon the Israeli artillery in al-Zaffata position shelled the towns of Mleita, Lweiseh and al- Rafai mountain as well as Litani riverbed and al-Salouqi valley.
The shelling was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire against mountain roads linking al-Tuffah district to occupied south Lebanon. The Israeli artillery in al-Fisheyeh plain also shelled Beaufort, Al-Hamra farm, Tbnin, Dahr al-Sawan, Eastern Zouter, Western Zouter, Qaqayet al-Jisr and Faroun areas.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out provocative mock-raids at low altitudes, and broke the sound barrier over the Lebanese capital. Earlier in the day, the occupation forces bombarded al-Zahrani riverbed, Haboush road and Arabsalim town.
