Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails urge their government to win their release
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 4/28/1998
Jordanian detainees in Israeli jails on Monday urged the Jordanian government to work for their release.
In a message recently addressed to the Jordanian government, published today by al-Quds daily, the eight Jordanian prisoners asked why Israel released only some of them rather than everybody as presumed.
The paper added that the prisoners who spoke in their message about the poor health conditions they suffer in the Israeli jails demanded that the Jordanian government put their case at the top of its list of priorities.
In September 1997 Israel released some 20 Jordanians in the framework of exchanging Mossad elements involved in the assassination attempt against the chairman of the political bureau of Hamas, Khaled Mishal, including Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmad Yassin.
