Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi stressed his country's desire to cooperate with Egypt. He described the role played by Egypt as very important on the regional and international levels.
In a press conference today, Kharazi called upon the US to change its "aggressive" policy towards Tehran and stop interfering in Iran's internal issues.
As for Iranian-German relations, the Iranian minister said that they "are improving," noting that, "No concrete steps have been so far taken to fully improve them."
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti dailies al-Hayat and al-Rai al-Am on Monday quoted Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa as saying in a press conference that Syrian-Iranian talks dealt with relations between Iran and Egypt. The Syrian minister added, "Syria is always concerned with improving Arab-Iranian relations in general and Iranian - Egyptian relations in particular."
The two dailies quoted an Iranian official as saying that his country needs no mediation to talk with Egypt because channels between Tehran and Cairo are open and relations are improving.
