Algerian parliament head resigns as leader of Algeria's ruling party
Algeria, Politics, 4/24/1998
The head of Algerian National Democratic Assembly, Abdel-Kader Bin Saleh, announced his resignation as leader of the ruling party, and said his resignation was due to the difficulty of harmonizing between the leadership of the ruling party and the leadership of Algeria's People's Assembly (Parliament).
Saleh opened the first conference of the National Democratic Assembly yesterday, where he resigned before diplomatic organizations, guests, Prime Minister Ahmed O'yahia, the members of the people's assembly, ministers and political party leaders.
