Iraq accuses Kuwait of using war prisoner's issue for politics

Iraq asserted that it has released all Kuwaiti prisoners since the end of the Gulf War, adding that Kuwait uses the question of the Kuwaitis who are still missing from the war for political purposes.
Iraqi dailies quoted a statement by a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry as saying that Iraq "has set free more than 1,000 Kuwaiti prisoners and others following cease-fire in the Gulf war in 1991." The spokesman added that Iraq provided information about some 136 missing Kuwaitis who escaped from detention sites following acts of violence that took place in southern Iraq following the Gulf War.
