Mubarak calls for speed up in Arab Free Trade implementation

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak confirmed support for increasing inter-Arab trade between the Arab states, where the current volume of this trade does not exceed more than 10%.

The inter-Arab investment is even smaller accounting for less than 2% of the Arab investment abroad.

The statement delivered by Dr. Youssef Butrus Ghali the economic minister at the second meeting for Businessmen held in Luxor, stated President Mubarak's view of the necessity for establishing an Arab economic entity capable of enhancing political, economic and social benefits of the Arab nation, pointing out that the Arab nation possess great capabilities that can enable her to achieve this goal.

President Mubarak pointed out that Arab investment will bring shared benefits to the Arab states, asking the government to speed up the development of the Arab Free Trade Zone.
