Palestinian groups in Damascus review Palestinian developments
Palestine-Syria, Politics, 4/23/1998

The representatives of the Palestinian forces in Damascus on Wednesday held a joint news conference in which they spoke about latest Palestinian developments.

Participants in the news conference included members of the Baath party's national leadership and members of al-Saeqa forces general leadership Muhammad Khaleifa; Fatah central committee secretary Abu Mousa; Fatah movement assistant secretary Abu Khaled al-Emleh; Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the liberation of Palestine, General Command Ahmad Jibril; Palestinian Revolutionary Communist Party Secretary-General Arabi Awad; member of Hamas political bureau Muhammad Nazal; Palestinian People's Struggle Front Secretary-General Khaled Abdul Maguid; a member of the Islamic Jihad movement leadership, Abu Tareq; and member of Palestine Liberation Front's Political Bureau, Ali Aziz.

Highlighting the Palestinians' struggle against Israeli occupation, the participants spoke about Israeli atrocities in the occupied Arab lands. They condemned all plans targeting the cause of Palestine, praising Syria's stances and effective attitude on the Arab official position concerning current issues in the Arab region.

They strongly condemned the Turkish-Israeli military alliance and underlined that Israel's decision to withdraw conditionally from Lebanon on the basis of UN resolution 425 is because it was forced to by the Lebanese resistance forces.
