British Labor party member for changing Western attitude on Iraq
Iraq-UK, International, 4/23/1998
Member of the ruling British labor party in the British House of Commons George Galloway on Wednesday called for changing the current Western policy towards Iraq.
In statements to "Sky News" TV in London, Galloway said, "Seven years of economic sanctions against the Iraqi people is a very long time and has to be reconsidered."
He added that several countries including France have shown signals that they favor changing the current policy against Iraq.
He continued that certain European countries have supplied Iraq with weapons, adding that the current sanctions have an adverse impact on the Iraqi people.
