Crown Prince Hassan: Islamic - Christian dialogue important
Jordan, Religion, 4/23/1998
"It is important to continue the Islamic - Christian dialogue," Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan said, and he highlighted the image of Islam and its stand towards various humanitarian issues.
"The dialogue is to create cooperation in different political, cultural and economic aspects," he stated.
Jordan's Crown Prince's remarks came at a meeting with members of the Cooperation Committee which was established by the last meeting of the World Islamic Council during its meeting in Cairo, Egypt last February.
Crown Prince Hassan confirmed the role of the committee in realizing the dialogue and fulfilling its aims.
"The required dialogue among religions is one that leads to the path into other world communities without losing our identity," Hassan said.
Islamic-Christian dialogue protects the rights of Islamic minorities in Western societies, he added, "It is necessary to establish an Islamic center to solve disputes and work towards averting them."
The aim of the meeting is to coordinate Islamic action in Islamic-Christian dialogue.
