Arab League meetings on joint Arab labor and free trade zone focus

The High Coordination Committee for joint Arab labor will hold the meetings of its 29th session in the Moroccan capital of Rabat on April 27-30.
Ambassador Abdel Rahman El-Sehibani, the Arab League's assistant secretary-general of economic affairs, said Esmat Abdel Meguid, the AL's secretary-general, will head the committee's meetings, which comprise all the specialized Arab organizations.
Sehibani added, "The committee is holding its meetings annually and aims at taking the coordinating plans among itself" to achieve the goals of the Arab League. He said its member organizations will help establish the free trade zone, each in its specialized field, and with complete coordination, which prevents duplicity in the performance of these organizations.
Sehibani added that in addition, there will be discussion of cooperation between the Arab League, its specialized organizations, the UN and its specialized agencies in the social, economic and political fields. These include the environmental, rural development, population, human resources, culture, energy, industry and transportation.
He concluded his statement by saying, "It is expected that a joint meeting will be held between the two trusteeships in the headquarters of the Arab League this year to discuss the resolution of the general assembly of the UN dealing with the cooporation between the two trusteeships.
