Economy minister reports to Mubarak on return from Washington

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak received report from Yousef Butros Ghali, the Egyptian minister of economy, about the results of the latter's two-week visit to the United States and his meetings with members of the congress, officials in the US administration and religious leaders to refuted false accounts on the issue of persecuting the Copts in Egypt.
Egyptian sources said that there is an Egyptian initiative at the information and political level in addition to the United Sates and European countries to explain the facts and refute the claims of US congressional members who accuse Egypt of religious discrimination.
The sources said that this move would expose the realities about the coexistence of all religions in Egypt.
The sources stated that Egypt accuses these congressional members and some lobbying groups of falsifying facts to provide pretext for putting political pressure on Egypt and to interfere in its internal affairs.
