UN tower hit by Israeli shelling

Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday shelled an Israeli position on al-Ahmadiyah hill inflicting direct hits on the site, while Israeli shelling on Shakra town in the central sector in south Lebanon damaged Lebanese citizen Raef al-Amin's house. Lebanese security sources said over 30 missiles landed on the edges of the town.
The Israeli shelling targeted the outskirts of the towns of Kafra, Yater and Barachit.
Meanwhile, UNIFIL's spokesman announced on Tuesday that a Ghanaian observation tower was hit by the Israeli bombardment. In a statement, the spokesman added that the Israeli shelling resulted in material damage, noting that an investigation will be made in this regard.
Earlier in the day, Israeli occupation forces attacked with heavy artillery the outskirts of Shakra town from their position in Muhaibib in the occupied part of South Lebanon.
Lebanese security sources said the Israeli war planes flew intensively in the airspace of the western and central sectors at an intermediate altitude and carried out mock provocative raids in the Tyre area.
Meanwhile, the Israeli surveillance planes flew in south Lebanon airspace.
On Tuesday morning, Lebanese resistance fighters attacked an Israeli position in Balat in the western sector of south Lebanon. In a statement, the resistance said it scored direct hits on the Israeli position.
