Israeli defense minister hopes to resume negotiations on the Syrian track

Israeli radio on Monday night quoted Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai as saying that he hopes his proposals pertaining to Israel's withdrawal from south Lebanon will yield fruit and lead to resuming negotiations on the Syrian track.
Mordechai's statements were made during a banquet on Monday in honor of US Defense Secretary William Cohen.
