Lebanese resistance escalates operations against Israeli occupation

Lebanese national resistance men on Monday attacked a pro-Israeli Lahd's militia force, patrolling in Jezzine. In a statement, the resistance said a group of resistance fighters detonated an explosive charge against the patrol near Kroum al-Arz position. Casualties were reported among members of the patrol. The Lahd militia radio said that only one soldier was hit by the explosion.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation troops renewed attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon

Lebanese security sources said Israeli heavy artillery shelled the surroundings of Kafra, Yater and Haris towns using 155 mm - caliber. The Israeli bombardment also covered al-Zahrani river bed and the area located between Shawkin and Mifdoun.

Earlier in the day, an Israeli armored force carried out by heavy and medium range machine guns, a large scale mopping-up operation against olive orchards in Kawkaba and al-Hasbani fields in the eastern sector of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the occupation troops stopped cars driven by Lebanese citizens during the operation and searched them at a check-point set up between Hasbbaya and Abu Qamha towns.

On Sunday night, the Lebanese resistance fighters attacked occupation troops in Beaufort and Wadi al-Hajir. In its statement Monday, the resistance said casualties reported among the Israeli troops.

Meanwhile, strict measures were taken by the Israeli troops upon reopening Zamrya crossing following several day of closure.
