US - Egyptian program for increase foreign trade

A source from the Egyptian Ministry of Trade confirmed that the ministry, in cooperation with the US subsidy department, has begun the implementation of a intensive program aimed at increasing foreign trade activities and exports.

The source also told ArabicNews.com that the program will concentrate on trade policy, typical descriptions of Egyptian goods, inspection of goods and the development of administrative and technical systems.

The Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Finance is about to finalize a program that deals with customs service problems with program implementation planed for the beginning of July. The program relies on an international company managing customs and informing importers about value of the tariffs due.

Meanwhile the head of the Egyptian Businessmen's Assembly, Said El-Tawil, said this project will end customs problems that were causing an increase in the cost of exports, adding that this will help the exports' competitiveness.
