Qatar's FM: We stopped Israeli relations
Qatar-Algeria, Politics, 4/17/1998

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabir al-Thani stated that his recent visit to Egypt affirmed the two presidents' desire to end any disputes between the Qatari and Egyptian people.

In a press conference during his quick visit to Algeria yesterday, the Qatari minister described his visit to Egypt as a good one, where the discussions held between him and Mubarak were frank and friendly.

Then he confirmed his country's support for an Arab summit to discuss the current difficult situation in the region.

He said that he delivered a message to Algerian President Liamine Zeroual from the Qatari emir concerning bilateral relations between the two states.

He also that Qatar has halted its relations with Israel due to the stumbling of the peace process, and there is only Israeli trade bureau in Qatar, currently working in a restricted capacity.
