Iraq's Sahaf to attend Security Council session

Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Said Sahaf arrived today in Cairo for a two-day visit, during which he will hold talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa concerning the escalation of the new disputes between the US and Iraq over the results of the activities of the international inspection committees at Iraqi sites.

An official source told ArabicNews.com that the secretary general of the Arab League Esmat Abdul Meguid will meet with Sahaf on Friday afternoon to discuss methods of coordinating stances during the Security Council's discussions.

An Iraqi source said that Sahaf will travel to New York on Sunday to attend the meetings of the UN Security Council at which time the report of the UN secretary-general about the results of the UNSCOM inspection group will be submitted and the extent of Iraq's commitment to implementing Security Council resolutions will be discussed.
