Syrian cultural week convenes in Madrid

The first Syrian cultural week opened in Madrid, Spain on Monday, under the patronage of Madrid's mayor and in the presence of the Syrian ambassador to Spain, several Orientalists and Syrian and Spanish personalities.
Among the activities planned for the week is an exhibition of Syrian handicrafts and costumes, a Syrian book show and an exhibition displaying sculptures by renowned Syrian artist Wassim Hatem, currently residing in Spain. Cultural symposiums and lectures are also organized in parallel with the week's activities.
