Iraq denies human rights reports

Iraq denied information stated in a report submitted by a human rights investigator in that the Iraqi government has executed at least 1,500 persons for political reasons during 1997. The Iraqi delegation to the UN human rights committee in Geneva described the annual report submitted by former Dutch foreign minister as mere repetition of old accusations and lies.
