Israeli police might question Faisal Husseini

Israel said it might summon PLO Executive Committee member Faisal Husseini for questioning with regard to allegations made by one of his bodyguards that he found a gun at Husseini's house in Jericho.

A police announcement said the decision was made after one of the guards at the Orient House, Husseini's head office in East Jerusalem, was arrested with a gun in his possession. When taken to court on Monday for a remand hearing, the guard claimed he found the gun at a house Husseini owns in Jericho, which is totally under Palestinian government control.

Husseini denied that he ever kept any guns at his house. "Our instructions and policy are clear; no employee at the Orient House should carry a gun; my house is free of any guns," said Husseini.
