Two international organizations criticize the prevention of Jordan to the peaceful negotiations
Jordan, Judicial, 4/13/1998
The Committee to Protect Journalists and the Human Rights Watch International presented protests to the Jordanian government against the denial of access to the press at the trial of Jordanian opposition figure Leith Shbeilat and the ban imposed against peaceful demonstrations in Jordan.
The organizations said this exclusion is a violation of the main principals of free expression and human rights.
Shbeilat will be presented before the State Security Court today on a charge of stirring violence relating to clashes between Jordanian police and demonstrators in the Jordanian city of Maan in February.
