Egypt-UK, Politics, 4/13/1998
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa met with a delegation from the British House of Commons, currently visiting Egypt, under the leadership of Ken Purchase, who said after the meeting that they exchanged views on Egypt's role in the peace process and the future of this process.
He also said the British government wants to establish good relations with all countries, especially Middle East states, pointing out that British Prime Minister Tony Blair's tour of the region will focus on discussing the peace process and the obstacles facing it.
Britain currently chairs the European Union, and as such, expressed special interest in the Middle East, Purchase added.
Purchase praised security procedures in Egypt after the delegation paid a three-day visit to Luxor during its tour.
The delegation from the British House of Commons includes seven members of different British parties and is visiting Egypt at the invitation of the Egyptian People's Assembly.
