Meguid to meet with families of Lockerbie victims
Regional-Libya-International Court of Justice, Politics, 4/13/1998

Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdel Meguid will meet the families of the victims of a 1988 bombing of a Pan Am flight over Lockerbie, Scotland.

The delegation includes a professor in Scottish law, and the talks will tackle the results of the meeting between the victims' families and British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The Arab League welcomed the position of those the victims' families who disapprove on the efforts of the US and Britain to force Libya to hand over the suspects to the two concerned countries.

Libya called for the suspects to be judged by the Scottish law in the International Court of Justice at the Hague.

It was said that the International Court of Justice decided to examine the issue, and decide on the extradition of the suspects.
