Gaddafi issues resolution releasing Egyptian fishermen
Libya-Egypt, Politics, 4/8/1998

Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi has issued a resolution releasing 44 Egyptian fishermen whom recently entered Libyan regional waters in three fishing boats.

Ambassador Ahmed Wahdan, Egypt's ambassador in Libya, said this decision is a result of the good relations between the two countries.

The three Egyptian fishing ships with 51 fishermen on board disappeared near the Libyan coast during a fishing trip in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

News reports said they were detained by the Libyan authorities and forced to sail into the Libyan harbor of El-Khamis.
