Lebanese resistance attacks patrol in Sujud

Violent confrontations on Monday afternoon took place between the Lebanese resistance and Israeli occupation troops and Israeli-backed Lahd's militia forces.

The Israeli troops escalated their attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied strip of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said Israeli occupation troops bombarded with artillery the towns of Barachit, Shakra, Haddath, Majdal Salam, Wadi al-Salawqi, Kabrekha, al-Qantara, Wadi al-Hajir, Tolin, Wadi al-Qaisyya, Eita al-Jabal, Kafra, Yater and al-Batem mountain.

The confrontations were accompanied by artillery bombardment. The Lebanese resistance said in a statement that the confrontations took place after it had attacked an Israeli on-foot patrol with heavy machine gun fire and mortars.

The Lebanese resistance attacked a joint Lahd-Israeli patrol in Sujud al-Rayhan and scored direct hits. The sources indicated that the Lebanese resistance shelled the sources of the Israeli bombardment in al-Qantara, Tel-Louseh, Teba and Markaba.

In another development, the Israeli occupation forces recently arrested Fatema Ahmad Abul Nabi, 32, from Eita al-Shaab town in the occupied strip of south Lebanon. Well-informed sources from the occupied district in south Lebanon said her husband was arrested twenty days ago and was taken to al-Khiam prison.

The committee of monitoring implementation of the April Understanding on Monday held a meeting at the headquarters of UNIFIL in the presence of all the members.
