Khartoum to return property to some opposition leaders

Riak Mashar, the head of the coordination council for southern Sudan, announced the intention of a group of southern factions to visit Egypt soon.

The delegation includes the southern leaders who signed the peace agreement with the Sudanese government, and the visit is scheduled to take place before the coming session of negotiations between the Sudanese government and rebels in Nairobi.

Meanwhile, El-Sadiq El-Mahdi inaugurated the new Sudanese Nation's Council in Cairo, he also said that the African tour of US President Bill Clinton called for increasing democracy in the region.

At the same time, the Sudanese news agency reported that Sudanese President El-Bashir said the government initiated procedures to give confiscated properties back to opposition leaders Ahmed El-Merghani, Ahmed El-Sayed Hamd and others from the opposition.
