Syrian-Lebanese summit to convene today
Syria-Lebanon, Politics, 4/6/1998

Orient radio quoted a well-informed Lebanese source as saying that a Lebanese- Syrian summit will be convened in Damascus today, following the visit by Syrian Vice-President Abdul Halim Khaddam and Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa to France. The radio reported that the meeting will be attended by Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on the Lebanese side and the Syrian side will include Khaddam and al-Sharaa.

The radio reported that before heading to France, Khaddam held talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri on the Israeli conditional proposal to implement UN resolution 425, which was categorically refused by Lebanon.

The report said the summit will discuss results of the meeting between Khaddam, and al-Sharaa and French President Chirac.
